There are steps that JamSum Media and Design will go through to helping out a new and/or existing client for a new website or redesign.
Step 1: Deciding what your goal of your website needs to be.
Before we get into the design or re-design of your website, we will asking you the following questions.
- What kind of website? (products, services and/or both)
- What is your audience?
- What is your competition?
- If you have an existing website, what is the items that seem to be working on the site to bring customers there?
- What do you offer your customer?
- Are you going to need or currently have a shopping cart?
- Do you currently have a domain name?
- Do you have graphics and/or photography?
- Do you have a logo?
- What are keywords that you believe customers are searching for to get to your site?
Then after we get these questions answered, we will have a more detailed view of what you may need. We can move on to the process of the web site.
Step 2: Showing you the process and scope of your web design project.
This step is giving you the idea of the scope, expectations and cost of your project. JamSum Media and Design will give you an outline of time it will take to get your site from the beginning to the ending stages. The expectations are set out for what we will be providing and what you will need to provide us with.
If things are not sent in a timely manner and benchmarks are not met could result in a longer time for the end date. It could create extra cost and also push out other benchmarks which can be a domino effect. Great news, we are here to help you navigate all those things. If you are feeling overwhelmed by the process we can edit the timeline and scope of work as needed. Every client and website is different. The whole point is to help you focus on the task at hand and not what is 3 steps down the road.
Step 3: Designing and Building your Website.
Depending on the project and how the timeline is set out, it could be different per website. The first thing we will get from you is your colors you would like to have on the website. Usually most clients will go off of their logo. If you are needing a logo created, we will add that into the scope of work.
We will take all the information of what you are needing on the site and come up a template for you to improve. Once you have approved the design we will go on to the filling in of information and photos.
Step 4: Developing Content for your Website.
For a lot of clients this can be a hard thing especially if they are starting from scratch with a new website. We will have the common pages like home, about us, contact us, services/product and faqs to get you started. Clients that already have a website, we can help you go through it and either update and/or help you add more content through text, articles and photos. This is where we will put your keywords in to play for search engines to find you.
Step 5: Final Overview of the New Website before Launch
This is step is the final stage before we launch the new site. We go over the site completely and make sure there are no tweaks, changes or updates needed. We make a marketing plan on how to launch it to the world, with social media.
Step 6: Launch the New Site
After all the tweaks and changes are made, we will set a launch date and make the site live. The big thing is that once your site is launched that you are still updating and adding additions to your site to keep it current and for users to keep coming back to your site.
